Forte Racing Looking for Another Podium at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Monrovia, California (Wednesday, September 17, 2025) – Forte Racing returns to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for this weekend’s TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks, carrying both momentum and unfinished business at the historic venue. The team scored a runner-up finish at the iconic track in 2023 and came home fourth in 2024, narrowly missing the podium. Now, with the addition of American driver Eric Filgueiras to the lineup alongside full-season drivers Misha Goikhberg and Mario Farnbacher, Forte Racing is determined to fight for a return to the Indy podium.

Along with flag-to-flag coverage on Peacock, NBC will broadcast the Battle on the Bricks live beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Filgueiras, a FIA Silver-rated driver, brings proven speed and winning pedigree across open wheel, prototype, stock car, and sports car racing. In 2024, he captured five wins on his way to securing the SRO GT4 America Silver Class Championship title. In 2023, he and his teammate became the first drivers in SRO history to secure back-to-back championships in GT4 and GT3, collecting 14 wins across two seasons. That same year, Filgueiras also earned a runner-up finish in GTWCA Pro at the Indy 8 Hour, highlighting both his pace and endurance experience at the iconic Brickyard.

“I’m excited for this opportunity to compete with Forte,” Filgueiras said. “I’ve observed their professionalism and performance on track for some time now and I can’t wait to get to work and contribute to a strong result for the organization.”

For Misha Goikhberg, the Brickyard holds special significance. He helped deliver Forte Racing to a podium finish in 2023 and was part of the close fight for third in 2024. With those experiences fresh in mind, Goikhberg sees Indy as both a challenge and an opportunity.

“We’ve shown strong pace throughout the season, but adding Eric gives us another dimension heading into Indy,” said Goikhberg. “It’s a track that carries so much history, and racing here is always special. We know the competition will be fierce, but our focus is on executing cleanly and putting ourselves in position for a strong finish.”

Mario Farnbacher brings not only two IMSA GTD championships to the table but also a deep appreciation for the prestige of Indianapolis. For the German driver, competing on the famed oval’s infield course and crossing the yard of bricks is a reminder of what makes endurance racing unique. With Forte Racing showing its potential in recent rounds, Farnbacher is eager to turn speed into results.

“Indianapolis is one of the most famous racetracks in the world, and to race the endurance round here is always a highlight,” said Farnbacher. “I’m looking forward to working with Misha, the team, and now Eric for the first time. We’ve shown our potential in recent rounds, even if the results haven’t always gone our way. Road America was a step forward, and now the goal is to keep that momentum and fight for a podium at the Brickyard.”

With Filgueiras joining the roster for the Indy event, the move not only strengthens the driving lineup but also reinforces Forte Racing’s strategic approach to the season. GTD Program Manager Michael Harvey underscored how Filgueiras’s addition fits perfectly into the team’s late season push for results.

“We’re very excited to welcome Eric for Indianapolis. We wanted to add strength to support Misha and Mario, and Eric brings experience, pace, and a mature approach as we focus on maximizing results. The whole team is performing at a high level right now, and Eric is the type of driver who can slot in seamlessly and deliver from the start.”

That perspective is shared at the highest level of the organization. Team Principal Shane Seneviratne expressed his excitement about welcoming Filgueiras to the lineup, noting how his addition brings fresh energy to Forte Racing’s push at one of the biggest races of the season.

“We’re thrilled to have Eric join us for Indy,” said Seneviratne. “He’s a proven driver with the kind of experience and pace that will strengthen our program right away. Indianapolis is such a special race, and with Misha, Mario, and Eric together, we have a lineup that gives us every reason to be excited about our chances this weekend.”
With Filgueiras joining the program, Forte Racing enters the Battle on the Bricks with renewed energy and focus. The team’s lineup is set to challenge for another podium at Indianapolis.
