Forte Racing and Partners Huntress and Ameritruck Celebrate Season Finale Weekend at Road Atlanta
Monrovia, California (Thursday, October 9, 2025) – Forte Racing returns to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this weekend for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finale, Motul Petit Le Mans. The team will field the No. 78 Huntress Forte Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 in the GTD class with drivers Misha Goikhberg, Mario Farnbacher, and Eric Filgueiras, while also competing in the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge with drivers Brian Thienes and Jon Hirshberg.
Goikhberg and Farnbacher, who have been consistently competitive throughout the 2025 season, are joined by Filgueiras for the 10-hour endurance classic. With a win in 2023 and a second-place finish in 2024, the team is confident that they can once again have a good result in the season finale.
Misha Goikhberg enters Petit Le Mans with confidence and a clear goal to finish the season on a high note. A consistent front-runner throughout 2025, Goikhberg has played a key role in the team’s progress and chemistry all season long. As he returns to Road Atlanta, a track where Forte Racing has found success in the past, Goikhberg is eager to help deliver another strong result for the Huntress and Ameritruck-backed team.
“Petit Le Mans is one of those races every driver looks forward to,” said Goikhberg. “It’s long, it’s demanding, and it rewards teamwork and focus. We’ve shown strong pace all season, and with the lineup we have for this weekend, I think we can fight for a great result. Everyone on this team has earned it.”
Mario Farnbacher, a two-time Petit Le Mans winner, brings experience, determination, and leadership to the lineup. As the team heads into one of the most challenging endurance races of the year, his experience at Road Atlanta—and history of success there—will be key in helping Forte Racing contend for another strong result.
“Petit Le Mans has always been special to me. It was my very first race in America back in 2012, and I won it — so I have great memories from this track. I’ve actually won Petit twice in my career, and it remains one of my favorite races because of its old-school character, the length, and the intensity. The final stints are always brutal, often deciding championships, and you really have to be on your game every single lap. It’s a short circuit where one mistake — a penalty or a slow pit stop — can cost you a lap instantly, so staying clean and consistent is everything.
After a tough season, I’m determined to bounce back and show what Forte Racing, Misha, Eric, and the whole team are capable of. Everyone has worked incredibly hard all year, and we want to end the season by proving how strong we are. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
Filgueiras made his debut with Forte Racing at Indianapolis last month and impressed with his speed, poise, and adaptability at the famed Brickyard. His performance in Indianapolis built strong momentum for the season finale, where he now looks to help the team end the year on a high note.
“I’m excited particularly since this is my first ever Petit Le Mans and Road Atlanta is one of my very most favorite tracks to drive,” Filgueiras said. “I’ve been an observer of this event for years and I’m thrilled to be competing with Forte and to represent passionate partners like Huntress. After a race like Indianapolis where we showed so much potential everyone is pulling in the same direction to end the season on a high note.”
Team principal Shane Seneviratne underscored the importance of closing out the IMSA season strong while continuing the team’s multi-series push.
“Petit Le Mans is a special race for us and a perfect stage to celebrate the partnerships that make this program possible,” said Seneviratne. “Huntress and Ameritruck have been incredible supporters, and their involvement reflects the same core values that drive us as a team—precision, reliability, and performance. Having Misha, Mario, and Eric together gives us a strong lineup, and we’re all focused on delivering a result that represents the strength of our entire program.”
Heather Decubellis, Director of Field Marketing at Huntress, drew parallels between the team’s performance on track and her company’s mission.
“Racing with Forte Racing, we’re not just spectators—we live the parallels,” Decubellis said. “Endurance racing is a game of precision engineering, split-second decisions, and relentless teamwork. Cybersecurity is no different: both are long battles with high stakes and zero room for error. By joining Forte on the track, we showcase the same grit and determination that fuels us every day as we protect businesses against relentless adversaries.”
Jon Tepper, CEO of Ameritruck, shared how the partnership reflects the shared commitment to performance, dependability, and integrity that defines both his company and Forte Racing.
“Partnering with Forte Racing is a great fit for us because both of our worlds revolve around performance, reliability, and trust. At Ameritruck, we help keep drivers and fleets moving with equipment they can depend on, and that same mindset drives success on the track. Supporting a team like Forte Racing reflects our shared commitment to doing things the right way — with passion, precision, and purpose.”
In addition to the GTD program, Forte Racing will also compete in the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge season finale, with Brian Thienes currently sitting second in the P3 championship standings. After finishing third in the championship last season, Thienes has built on that momentum with another strong campaign in 2025. He’s been a consistent front-runner all year, while Jon Hirshberg, making his third start of the season, has continued to show progress and speed with each outing. Together, they aim to close out the year with a strong performance at Road Atlanta and add to Forte Racing’s growing list of achievements across IMSA competition.
Petit Le Mans marks the conclusion of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and VP Racing SportsCar Challenge seasons, but Forte Racing’s year is far from over. The team will compete next week in the McLaren Trophy America finale before heading to Misano, Italy, for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals in early November. With momentum and purpose, Forte Racing looks to close out 2025 with strong performances both at home and abroad.
