Scott Hargrove Added as Endurance Driver
Monrovia, California (Tuesday, June 17, 2025) – Forte Racing returns to the track this weekend for one of the crown jewels of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship — the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen at Watkins Glen International. After a strong fifth-place finish at Laguna Seca and the addition of accomplished Canadian racer Scott Hargrove to their lineup, the team enters the endurance classic with renewed confidence and a clear goal: a podium finish.
Hargrove, who brings a wealth of open-wheel and sports car experience to the No. 78 Huntress Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, joins full-season drivers Misha Goikhberg and Mario Farnbacher for the team’s next chapter in the GTD class. With multiple championships and over 30 career victories to his name, Hargrove’s versatility and proven pace are a welcome addition.
“I’m thrilled to join Forte Racing and compete alongside Misha and Mario,” Hargrove said. “It’s a real honor to be chosen by the team. Driving the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 for the first time during practice will be a fun challenge. I’ve only raced Porsches throughout my career, so this is a fantastic opportunity — especially to make my debut with the team at the Six Hours of Watkins Glen.”
Veteran driver Misha Goikhberg is confident the team is moving in the right direction as they prepare for one of the most demanding events of the season. With momentum from their strong run at Laguna Seca and progress made during recent testing, Goikhberg sees Watkins Glen as a key opportunity to capitalize on recent gains and showcase the team’s continued growth.
“We’re looking to build on our strong execution at Laguna Seca,” Goikhberg said. “Adding Scott to the team gives us a strong lineup for the Six Hour. We’re also optimistic that the recent BOP adjustment and what we learned during our test will put us in a good position to be competitive. Watkins Glen is fast, physical, and always unpredictable, but I believe we have all the right pieces in place to deliver a strong result.”
For Mario Farnbacher, Watkins Glen holds special meaning. With a prior victory at the storied circuit and a promising test under their belts, the German driver is confident about the team’s prospects.
“Really looking forward to Watkins Glen,” Farnbacher said. “Very legendary racetrack with history and one of the most beautiful races on our calendar. I love that track — lots of grip, fast corners, and lots of fun to be there. We’ll definitely try to execute after our strong finish at Laguna Seca. We had a good test a couple of weeks ago; very promising. We’re definitely looking forward to a good result with our Huntress Lamborghini.”
“I have some good memories. I’ve had a win of the Six Hours already in my pocket. Let’s see how the weather is — it can be quite unpredictable up there. But no matter what we get, I’m definitely looking forward to it. That’s why I love racing in America; old-school tracks, super fast and difficult.”
As Forte Racing prepares for their third endurance outing of the season, the team continues to focus on steady progress and executing at a high level. With strong chemistry in place and encouraging results from recent testing, team principal Shane Seneviratne believes the team is well-positioned to take another step forward at Watkins Glen.
“We’ve been steadily making progress all season, and Watkins Glen is a key event for us,” said Seneviratne. “Scott is a great addition to our driver lineup and brings the right combination of speed and experience for an event like this. The team has been working hard, and our recent test gave us a solid foundation. We’re excited to keep that momentum going and see what we can achieve together this weekend.”
Fans can follow Forte Racing on Instagram throughout race week as the team competes in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, scheduled for Sunday, June 23, 2025, with the green flag set to drop at 12:10 PM Eastern Time.
