Plymouth, WI (Thursday, July 31, 2025) – Forte Racing’s IMSA WeatherTech GTD Lamborghini, along with two entries in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series, arrived at the storied 4.048-mile, 14-turn Road America road course with high expectations for the weekend. After a hard-fought showing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the team is aiming to convert its pace and preparation into results on one of the most iconic tracks on the IMSA calendar.
Forte Racing’s 2023 Road America weekend showcased the team’s tenacity, rebounding from a heavy crash early in the weekend to deliver a fourth-place finish in Sunday’s race. Now, with a retooled lineup and renewed focus, the team is looking to recapture that resilience and turn it into a podium run.
Veteran driver Misha Goikhberg, who has competed at Road America across multiple categories, is eager to return to a circuit that has delivered both challenge and opportunity for the team. He brings a clear sense of purpose to the weekend, knowing the car and crew are capable of delivering a breakthrough performance.
“I’m looking forward to my favorite racetrack,” said Goikhberg. “We are laser-focused on our execution and are due for a good result.”
For Mario Farnbacher, Road America offers a mix of nostalgia and opportunity. The German driver has a deep appreciation for the circuit’s complexity and character, which he believes plays to the strengths of the No. 78 Huntress Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2.
“Road America is one of my favorite tracks. Definitely a cool place to go to – cool track. Actually, a small Nürburgring version – cool flowing corners, some tight corners, technical, high-speed as well, so there’s a little bit of everything in it,” Farnbacher explained. “I’m definitely looking forward to driving our Huntress Huracán Lamborghini GT3 there. Hopefully we can show that we have good potential, that we can win races there. We almost did it in Mosport but had an unfortunate situation with the contact. Hopefully we can follow up with a good performance at Road America together with Misha and the team.”
In addition to its WeatherTech Championship entry, Forte Racing continues its campaign in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America. The single-make series is known for close racing and high-performance hardware, and Forte’s pairing of Jon Hirshberg and Ray Shahi has proven to be both consistent and competitive through the early rounds of the season.
Returning to the car for his final North American Super Trofeo event of 2025, Jon Hirshberg brings strong motivation and a desire to finish his campaign on a high note.
“I’m excited to be joining Forte for another round of Super Trofeo this weekend at one of my favorite tracks,” said Hirshberg. “This will be my last North American Trofeo race this season and I’m looking forward to making it count!”
As the team prepares to tackle both GTD and Super Trofeo competition, Team Principal Shane Seneviratne emphasized the collective effort and strong preparation heading into Road America.
“Road America is always a standout weekend—both for the racing and the fan experience,” said Seneviratne. “Our GTD team continues to push hard, and I’m proud of the growth we’re seeing in the Super Trofeo program as well. This track has a way of rewarding commitment, and I believe our drivers and crew are ready to deliver.”
