Position One Partners with Forte Racing to Guide the Next Generation of Motorsports Talent

New Development Initiative Will Provide Young Drivers and Their Families with Mentorship, Professional Guidance Backed by Decades of Experience, and a Clear Path Forward

Monrovia, Calif. (Tuesday, July 21, 2026) – Position One Motorsports and Forte Racing officially launch their new driver development collaboration today with a two-day evaluation and training program at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. The initiative begins with an evaluation test for 18-year-old Jesus Vasquez Jr. in an On Track Performance Ligier F4 race car, followed by a second day of advanced instruction for Position One’s junior drivers. Together, the sessions are designed to introduce young racers to a professional racing environment while emphasizing long-term driver development.

The initiative follows a successful weekend in the Champions of the Future K1 Series at K1 Speed Winchester, where Position One driver Kendall West earned a race victory and teammate Benjamin Monroy added a third-place finish. Building on that momentum, the collaboration creates a clear pathway for young drivers to continue their development through professional mentorship, testing opportunities and exposure to every aspect of a modern race team.

The collaboration brings together decades of professional motorsports experience to help Position One drivers advance through every stage of the motorsports ladder. Through the partnership, Forte Racing will provide access to its team resources, professional racing environment and extensive network of industry partners, including On Track Performance, to help accelerate each driver’s development. The program focuses on engineering fundamentals, racecraft, professional etiquette, sponsorship education, media training and identifying valuable testing opportunities to maximize driver growth.

Former Formula Renault and NASCAR competitor, and Position One Motorsports owner, Luis Martinez Jr. said the collaboration represents a shared commitment to providing young drivers and their families with the guidance, opportunities and support needed to successfully navigate the path to professional motorsports.

“I’ve spent a lot of time at karting tracks and have seen so many incredibly talented young drivers and families who are completely committed to helping them pursue their dreams,” Martinez said. “Having competed professionally myself, I understand both the opportunities and the challenges that come with moving through the ranks of motorsports. What I’ve also seen is how difficult it can be for families to know what the next step should be, when to make that move and where to turn for honest guidance. By collaborating with organizations like Forte Racing and On Track Performance, we’re able to surround our drivers with experienced professionals who can help guide that journey.”

The collaboration also reflects the vision of Aaron Seneviratne, whose interest in creating additional opportunities for young drivers helped inspire the initiative. Aaron will contribute his time and resources throughout the program, including this week’s driver development activities at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, drawing on his hands-on experience with 3D printing, simulator assembly and driver simulator training while serving as a relatable mentor for younger drivers beginning their own motorsports journey.

Supporting that vision, Forte Racing contributes decades of professional racing experience, engineering expertise and industry relationships to help create meaningful opportunities for young drivers as they continue their progression through the motorsports ladder.

Don Cusick, owner of On Track Performance, said the collaboration provides young drivers with an ideal opportunity to continue their development in a professional environment.

The collaboration currently includes Position One drivers Kendall West, Luis Martinez III, Benjamin Monroy, Emiliano Hernandez and Matteo Gomez, along with Jesus Vasquez Jr., who joins the initiative to benefit from its mentorship, testing opportunities and access to an experienced network of motorsports professionals. Additional Position One drivers are expected to be announced as the collaboration continues to expand.

Beyond on-track instruction, the collaboration is designed to expose drivers to the professional side of motorsports, including engineering, teamwork, communication, race preparation and the expectations that come with competing at higher levels of the sport. By combining the strengths of Position One Motorsports, Forte Racing and On Track Performance, the initiative is intended to provide young racers and their families with a clearer understanding of the path ahead while creating meaningful opportunities for growth.

As the collaboration continues to grow, additional industry partners are expected to join the initiative, creating even more opportunities for young drivers and their families as they pursue careers in professional motorsports.

For Seneviratne, supporting families remains just as important as developing drivers.
